The Institute strives to bring industry and global perspective for all its programmes and activities. The Institute encourages significant overseas exposure for its students. The institute proposes to have external linkages with industry, community as well as other technical institutes of excellence in the region to promote primary research, value edition to the industry and society at large. The student participation along with the faculty will inculcate the ability to implement theories into practice as well as simulate the wholesome growth of students. These projects will expose the students to the real world of industry and corporates so that the learning becomes focused and they become more industry savvy. These students will be able to contribute to the industry from the day one of their joining the same.

Linkages with Industry

BGSCET will have strong linkages with industry to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Following are the key elements of institute industry partnership.

This linkage with industries will facilitate the students learning by way of summer internship, working on live projects as well as their final placements

Linkages with the Community

BGSCET believes in contributing to the society not only by developing proficient professionals but also contributing its best to under privileged sections of the Society. The Institute believes in and practices community ownership and will organize community development / welfare programmes. The Institute will join hands with the NGOs in organizing blood donation camps and other socially relevant activities. All students in the first year will be taken  for a rural exposer for a week days to have better understanding of the rural India. In the 2^nd year, all the students will spend 10-15 days with an NGO to have a better understanding of their social responsibility and contribution to the society.  To do this, BGSCET adopts different Localities around the institution for providing basic education. BGSCET has a social Service wing which is used to channelizing the social service activities of the faculty, staff and the students. BGSCET will adopt 5 nearby villages and conducts activities like medical camps, literacy camps and educates the villagers regarding hygiene and health care, on a regular basis

Linkages with other Technical Institutions in the region

Steps would be taken to form linkages, tie ups with other institutes of excellence in the region like BMSCE, MSRIT, RVCE, BIT etc., Constant interaction among the staff members by means of seminars, conferences etc., would be encouraged thereby resulting in knowledge sharing which also help faculty members to keep themselves abreast with latest trends in research and allied areas and this creates long lasting effect on students learning experiences.

Linkages with Institutions of excellence such as the IITs and IISc, Bangalore

Efforts would be made to have linkages with the centers of excellence like the IITs and IISC, Bangalore. Experts from these premier institutes would be called for guest lectures, for conferences, if possible be included in the Academic council activities of the Institution. BGSCET will make it a point to attend  conferences conducted by premier colleges and professional bodies like IITs, IISc, IIIT-Bengaluru almost on a regular basis.

Linkages Abroad

The institute will have tie-up with some international linkages after the institution is formed and settle down.

In order to establish a link between the proposed college and foreign industries, the management would

take the following steps to start with:

• To prepare a data base on the expertise and facilities available in the college for consultancy

services.

• To establish a close liaison with local and regional industries & keeping them informed about the

expertise in consultancy services.

• To arrange for short time training programmes for entrepreneurs
• To arrange visits of students to industries.

Once the college earns accreditation from NBA, the management will try to establish contacts with foreign technical colleges for cooperation in mutually benefited area.

Linkages with R&D Laboratories

A close collaboration of technical institutes and Research & Development laboratories are very important. This may result in :

1. Cost effective designs and solutions for solving real world problems
2. Replacing imported technical know-how with local technical know-how
3. Conservation of resource

The management is always for such cooperation and would never miss any opportunity that will come in the way. The institution will have MoUs with the leading R&D laboratories.
